Plastering Sand is the base component for render mix, usually mixed with other materials such as cement, lime and water to achieve the desired mix. Plastering Sand can also be used as paving sand but does not compact quite as well as Brickies Sand due to its lower clay and fine silt content. However it is generally easier to screed (level off) due to the lower clay and fine silt content in the sand reducing the likelihood of a crust forming on the surface.
